The relation between bureaucracy and teacher?s efficiency

This study?s aim is to determine the relationship between the bureaucracy and teacher efficacy according to the school directors.This study employs 181 school directors who worked at 61 primary and high schools in 2007 and 2008 in Uşak province. The study?s sampling group has been formed by the school directors Uşak. So the sampling group represents all Uşak. In this research, the measuring equipments ?describing the bureaucracy? and ?describing being bureaucratic? questionnaires which Yücel (1999) has developed, the teacher efficacy questionnaire has been developed with the help of data in the report which has been prepared by Ministry of National Education General Directory of Teacher Training in 2006. In this questionnaire 5 point Likert type scale has been administered.Only 129 useful questionnaires have been delivered. While analyzing them SPSS.15.0statistical package has been used.The data has been analyzed with Factor analysis, Average, Standard deviation, Anova ,Tukey and T-test.In this research bureaucracy?s influence on teacher?s qualification has been determined. The directors mostly give importance to the rules and while getting older their tendency of teacher?s qualification increases.Giving importance to hierarchical authority, the skills of communication and interaction decreases but while bureaucracy increases, the teacher efficacy increases.Key words: Bureaucracy, Bureaucratization, Efficiency, Teacher Efficaccy
