Determination of the current situation of animal production supports given in Başkale district

In this study, the socio-economic structure of the enterprises receiving especially livestock supports in Baskale District of Van Province, the usage of livestock supports in agricultural activities, whether the supports were used again in agricultural activities, the evaluation of agricultural support policies and the payment of the supports, the positive and negative impacts of the companies were evaluated by a survey research based on the producers' approach. The data obtained from 184 enterprises representing Baskale District through the survey about animal supports were evaluated. When the data obtained from 184 enterprises were from evaluated; 90.2% of the enterprises received agricultural support. breeders are graduated primary school and their age is 50 years or older. It was determined that 70.1% of the enterprises was pleased with the period of support payment, 66.8% of the farmers encouraged the production of livestock subsidies and 74.8% of the farmers increased the number of animals. 95.7% of the farmers argued that the support they received was insufficient. Results from present study showed that farmers in the Başkale district of Van province were satisfied with the agricultural support provided by the state, however they should participate in training programs on modern animal production techniques in order to make a conscious and profitable animal husbandry
