Study on symbolic elements in Baskurt epics

Epics, which are among the cultural values of a nation, are folk narratives that reflect events that directly affect the life of the nation to which they belong. In order for epics to emerge, events that significantly affect people must occur and a certain amount of time must pass. The events in the epic are mostly told around an alpine type. Alpine type; It has a bold, brave and independent identity that always sets its goal forward with a heroic spirit. The Alp type is an idealized type who carries all the positive qualities of his nation, and at the same time, he struggles by putting his life on the line for the unity and integrity of his nation. Başkurt epics, which have an important place in Turkish national culture, are among the folk narratives that reveal the national memory of Başkurt Turks. Epics reflect the traditions and customs, lifestyle, beliefs, customs and traditions of the Başkurt Turks in various aspects. While epic heroes encounter some difficulties on their way, symbolic elements shape the epic. For this reason, the symbolic elements in epics constitute the main subject of our study. The aim of our study is to evaluate the value of epics that emerged with national feelings in terms of symbolic elements within our cultural treasure. Thus, the importance of epics, which are indicators of unity and integrity within the national and spiritual values of Turkish culture, will be better understood.
