Evaluation of the pasture practices within the Pasture Law numbered 4342 in terms of socio economics characteristics of villages in districk of Beşiri in Batman province

The aim of the study was introduced the problems that are occurred after reclaiming the pastures within the law 4342, related to pasture, forage plant production and animal husbandry of the studied region and gathering the reference data for further practices in the six villages of (Ayrancı, Değirmenüstü, Deveboynu, Doğankavak, Tepecik and Yontukyazı) Beşiri district in the province of Batman. Survey questions were prepared for this purpose and the survey was made by interviewing face to face with sixty producers live in six villages selected randomly. Improvement of the quality and productivity of natural resources by protecting them was aimed by the pasture law. However, the innovations of the law, 4342 was not explained enough to the villagers which is resulted insufficient cooperation. Moreover, it was surveyed that the farmers did not enough knowledge about the forage crop production and, due to high feed prices, insufficient and poor of the meadow-pasture areas, the majority of the producers have used the industrial fodder and straw for the feeding their animals in the regional. It is understood that the majority of the producers do not have any information in details about the Pasture Law No. 4342 and want the improvement of pasture in the region.
