Abstract (EN)

In this study, our aim was to evaluate the nutritional status and habits, the nutrition?s indicator of anthropometric and biochemical measurements and performance status of 13-15 years old 14 basketball female team players; and determine the relations between these parameters.Participants? energy intake was as 2735±992 kkal, energy expenditure as 2674±199 kkal, energy balance as +61 kkal; the percentages of carbohydrate, protein and fat as 52.6±5.2 %, 14.1±2.1 % and 33.3±5.4 % accordingly. It was also seen that the average amount of folic acid, calcium and potassium intakes couldn?t meet the RDA?s values. Participants? average weight was as 62.1±6.4 kg, height as 170.9±7.4 cm and percentage of body fat as 14.6±2.5 %. Participants? flexibility values were found as 23.0±6.7 cm, VO2 max/kg as 39.8±3.3 ml/kg/dk, PP as 574.6±274.5 W, AP as 294.8±66.5 W, knee extension peak tork values at the speed of 60, 120 ve 180°/sec were found as 134.9±19.2, 108.7±13.7 and 90.7±13.0 Nm accordingly. Some important relations were obtained between some nutritional parameters and anthropometry and biochemical parameters. Likewise some important relations were found within nutritional and anthropometric measurements (p<0.05). As a result; some problems were examined in athletes? nutrition; moreover, it is thought that adequate and balanced nutrition will affect athletes? health, maturation and performance positevely throughout life. For this reason; athletes, trainer and families must be educated about nutrition and it will be appropriate for them to be consulted by experts. In the future, there will be a need of further research in order to evaluate adolescent athletes? nutrition and performance.Key Words: Nutrition, female adolescent, anthropometry, performance, basketball
