Abstract (EN)

Turkey's energy profile when the revised role and importance of renewable energy sources is evident. However, the use of renewable energy sources is very low (1% and below) and these types of energy are not adequately addressed. In particular, the use of solar and wind energy in Turkey will make significant contributions to the energy budget. The strategies, plans and policies required for the correct and healthy utilization of renewable energy sources are becoming more and more important. In this study, the historical development of wind energy is mentioned and the place of wind energy in the world and in our country is discussed. While calculating the wind energy potential of Bayburt region, energy production for nine different turbines were calculated by using the average wind data recorded in the wind measurement station established in Aydıntepe District of Bayburt province. Depending on the wind direction and wind blowing frequency, the highest specific energy amount in the region can be obtained in the direction of south (1250 kWh / m2 / year) and south-southeast (about 800 kWh / m2 / year).
