Abstract (EN)
The Mongol invasion, which began in the 13th century, has left long-termtraces in many parts of the world. The geography of Anatolia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq also was affected by this invasion. It is not true to explain the progress of the Mongols only with the individual achievements of the Mongol khans. The commanders who played a vital role in spread of the Mongolian armies to large geographies were also influential In our master thesis "Bayju Noyan", the activities of the Mongolian commander Baycu Noyan, who played significant roles in the process of spreading the Mongols to the west, are discussed. Baycu Noyan's life is explained in chronological order by using main and research sources. Baycu Noyan was a commander in 1229 in Isfahan war. Then he had some important duties in the army that was sent to the West to invade Caucasia under the command of Curmagun. Baycu Noyan came to Anatolia with the Mongol armies in 1242 and invaded Erzurum, and after he defeated the Seljuk State in Kosedağ War. After this war, the expantion of the Mongols in Anatolia became easier and the cities of Sivas, Kayseri and Erzincan respectively were destroyed. Many Muslim Turks lost their lives in Anatolia. The military activities of the Mongols under the control of Baycu Noyan adminstration destroyed the state order of the Seljuk, (and as a result of this) Anatoila lost its independence In this study, political, social, and economic problems that emerged as a result of Baycu Noyan's military missions are also included in our research
