Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the effect of irrigation at different development stages on yield and yield components of safflower. The study was carried out at the experimental area of Department of Field Crops, Agriculture Faculty, Dicle University during 2009-2010 growing season under Diyarbakır ecological conditions. In the study three safflower varieties (Dinçer, Remzibey-05, Yenice) were used as material, and control (based on rain), stem elengation (63 mm) beginning of flowering (99 mm) and full flowering (126 mm) were chosen as irrigation periods. At the end of study, seed yield varied between 1811 kg ha-1 and 2541 kg ha1 According to oil yield, the highest value was obtained from beginning flowering period, the highest value recorded from Remzibey-05 as 31.2%. As a conclusion, it was determined, to obtain high seed yield, petal and oil yield, beginning of flowering period is suitable for irrigation.
