Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of Cucumber mosaic virus and Tobacco mosaic virus were investigated on commercially varieties such as Sweet Ruby F1, Ergenekon F1, Asena F1, Yalova Çorbacı 12, BT İnce Sivri 016 and Gizem Tatlı Sivri used in the production. Typical simptoms of two viruses were observed in all plants of pepper varieties when they were inoculated mechanically with isolates of CMV and TMV at the stage of seedling. % Disease Index values calculated by the symptoms produced on pepper plants were determined alternatingly as 44,44-66,67 % and 69.44-94,44 % for CMV and TMV, respectively. In the samples from the plants at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after inoculation, TMV concentration was lower in Ergenekon F1 ve Sweet Ruby F1 while Asena F1 ve Gizem Tatlı Sivri had less CMV content. It was found that both of virus isolates generally tend to decrease the plant growth parameters including leaf, body, root and fruit properties according to healthy indivuals of pepper varieties in the assay.
