Abstract (EN)

Cancer has become a very common disease in the world and also in our country. Since cancer cells do not divide in a controlled manner as in healthy cells, the aim of most of the studies is to prevent this uncontrolled division. Within the scope of our study, three different cancer cell lines SW-480 (human colon cancer), PC3 (human prostate cancer) and Hep3B (human liver cancer) and one non-cancer cell line Huvec (human endothelial cell line) were used. The cytotoxic effects of previously synthesized Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes named ID1, ID2 and ID3 were determined by MTT test. The antitumor effects of ID1 compound in Hep3B cells were determined by wound healing analysis and colony formation analyses. Viability tests determined that the highest cytotoxic effect of ID1 compound was in Hep3B liver cancer cell line. While ID2 compound did not show cytotoxic effect in any cell line, ID3 compound caused a decrease in cell proliferation only in SW480 colon cancer cells. Antitumor effects of ID1 compound were determined in Hep3B cells by wound healing assay and colony formation tests. It was determined that 10 µM ID1 application reduced colony formation.
