Abstract (EN)

In this study, their secondary metabolites (Phenolic compounds and fatty acides), biological activities (antiproliferative - cytotoxic activity) and selenium analysis of three endemic Astragalus species (Astragalus anthylloides Lam., A. lycius Boiss., A. xylobasis Freyn & Bornm. var. angustus (Freyn & Sint.) Freyn & Bornm) were researched. For this purpose, firstly, plants samples were collected in the natural environment. The plants were dried under appropriate conditions and they were ready for experimental work. The plants were extracted with hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-buthanol and methanol solvents, respectively. Hexane extracts were characterized by GC-MS and other extracts were determined by HPLC-TOF/MS. The anticancer activities of all the extracts were investigated against rat brain tumor (C6) and human cervical cancer (HeLa) cells. The cytotoxic activities of extracts that have high antiproliferative activities were determined. Hovewer, selenium analysis of the plant and soil where the plant grows were performed.
