Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTBotrytis cinerea Pers. (anamorf; Botryotinia fuckeliana (De Bary) Whetzel) is acosmopolite plant pathogen causing disease in 235 hosts containing ornamentalplants, vegetables and fruits cultivated in closed and open areas and can be seen pre-and post-harvest. Disease infections towards the harvest of tomato fruits can causedecay and decrease marketing value. Many fungisites were used to control thedevastating pathogen, B. cinerea, but pathogen has developed resistance toward thesefungicides causing difficulty in control of the disease. Alternative control methodsemploying some chemical and physical has not been studied previously, therefore,we aimed to investigate the effects of some physical and chemical mutagens on thebiology and patogenicity of B. cinerea. In this study 4 different mutagens wereemployed; chemical mutagen of caffeine is effected on fungus spore germination, spor yield and spore germ tube elongation, over 1000 and 3000 ppm dosage colonygrowth was inhibited. The effect of fungus pathogenicity was seen on 300 ppm andover dosages. When the dosage series were increased, fungus colony growth, sporeyield, germ tube elongation and pathogenicity were decreased. Chemical mutagen ofcolchicine did not effect fungus spore yield although colchicine is effect on colonygrowth, germ tube elongation and pathogenicity. Fungus pathogenicity wasdecreased from 100 ppm and colony growth was decreased only 3000 ppm.Physical mutagen, 350-400 nm Ultraviolet (UV) radiation effect was seen onlyspore germination. At 1 moment, the least UV dosage, only 7 number from counted400 spore were germinated. At higher dosages any germination was not seen. UVradiation only effect on fungi spore although colony growth and pathogenicity werenot. Electromagnetic Field (EMF) of B. cinerea?s different fungal stages is notimportant statistical dimention, was determined. The effects of the mutagens on the biology and pathogenicity of B. cinereawere investigated with this study. The results obtained from this reseach may be usedin future experiments on fungicide-resitant and high virulent strain.III
