Abstract (EN)

This study examines the perspective of Islam regarding animals and the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) approach towards them, primarily through the lens of Hadith. The research first delves into Islam's understanding of compassion, mercy, and justice towards animals, focusing on the Prophet's (pbuh) verbal teachings and practical applications in this regard. In this context, incentives for valuing and protecting animals have been evaluated. Central to the study are the Hadith narrations concerning animals explicitly commanded to be killed. These narrations have been meticulously extracted from classical Hadith works, analyzed in terms of both their matn (text) and isnad (chain of transmission), and their authenticity status determined. During the evaluation of these Hadith from both isnad and matn perspectives, comparative analyses were conducted across various sources, highlighting the differences among them. Furthermore, classical exegesis (sharh) literature was utilized to ensure a precise understanding of the Hadith in question. In this regard, the interpretations of these Hadith were thoroughly investigated, and the views of the respective commentators (muallifs) were examined. The analyses conducted by these commentators on the Hadith proved to be highly beneficial in comprehending the narrations. Finally, a comparison was drawn between the value Islam attributes to animals and the privileges offered by modern life, aiming to establish a distinct perspective within the context of animal rights. This approach has allowed for a clearer elucidation of the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) stance on animals and its contemporary implications.
