Abstract (EN)
In this study, effects of sublethal concentrations of cyfluthrin and etoxazole on the activities of catalase (CAT), glutation peroksidase (GPx), acetlycolinesterase (AChE) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in the liver and kidney of the rats were investigated. Cyfluthrin and Etoxazole were administered intraperitonally over a 21 day period in a dose of 1.2, 12 and 120 mg/kg b.w./day and 2.2, 11 and 22 mg/kg b.w./day respectively.Cyfluthrin decreased CAT activity at the higher two doses in the liver and kidney, whreas it did not affect CAT activity at the lowest dose. GPx activity decreased in the liver comparing SP (serum physiologic) and DMSO controls in all groups, though there was no change in the kidney of rat which was compared to SP control at the lowest exposure dose and at all doses when compared with DMSO. Cyfluthrin increased MDA level in liver at all doses when compared with both SP and DMSO, however, it increased the MDA level in kidney at two highest doses. AChE activity in the liver of all groups exposed to cyfluthrin decreased comparing to both SP and DMSO control group whereas in the kidney there was only significant decrease at the highest dose when compared to both control. The kidney and liver CAT, GPx and AChE activities of rats treated with etoxazole were decreased at all doses when compared with SP however, the MDA level was increased.
