Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was investigated that degradation of Reactive Red 194 and Reactive Yellow 145 azo dyes, which are mostly used in textile industry, by advanced oxidation techniques (AOPs). AOPs used were ozone, ozone/UV, ozone/UV/H2O2, ozone/H2O2, photocatalytic ozonation, homogeneous catalytic ozonation, heterogeneous catalytic ozonation and H2O2/UV. It was found that degradation efficiency was increased when ozonation method was combined with other AOPs. The best degradation efficiency among AOPs used was photocatalytic ozonation method. In this method, minerilization, decolorization and dearomatization was found as 80%, 99% and 97% for RR194, 80% 99% and 95% for RY145, respectively. Degradation products of dyes were analyzed by using GC-MS, FTIR and HPLC techniques. 1,2 dibenzenecarcoxylic acid derivatives, acetic acid, formic acid and some inorganic anions (Cl-, NO3-, SO4-2 ) were determined.
