Abstract (EN)

Since pollutants involved in the waters show diversity every day with the development of developing industry and technology, the analysis technologies used to control these pollutants are ineffective in some areas. Antimicrobial compounds have been accepted as the most dangerous pollutant species for the microorganism resistance caused by their widespread use in our country and around the world. Antibiotics with extensive use in the developing world are frequently used in hospitals and veterinary medicine. Antibiotics and medicines that cannot be eliminated by classical treatment methods (physical, chemical, biological) cause environmental problems in receiving environments. Introduction of antibiotics to the environment; It depends on the frequency of excretion, the dosage and amount used, the tendency of the microorganisms in the waste water treatment plant to convert metabolically and the tendency to attach to the solids. High antibiotic concentrations have a toxic effect on the surface water organisms and low antibiotic concentrations cause antibiotic resistance. For this reason, uncontrolled entry of antibiotics should be prevented. In this study, electrochemical oxidation method of Sephalosporin group based cephalexin antibiotic which has wide usage area in Northern Europe and in our country has been investigated by using electrochemical oxidation method with Sn / Sb / Ni anodes. This antibiotic compound was dissolved in ultrasafsu and a synthetic wastewater sample of 250 mg / l concentration (Cef: 50 mg / l) was prepared. The optimum pH: 7,1, optimum salt amount, 750 mg / L KCl and optimum flow intensity were determined as 50 mA / cm2 and> 99% COD removal efficiency was obtained in the experiments performed with different salt types, pH and flow density. The residual antibiotic measurements performed with UPLC showed that the most efficient treatment was achieved with these conditions. In the removal of the selected cephalexin antibiotic, it was found that the treatment with electrochemical oxidation was an effective method by using new Sn / Sb / Ni anodes with limited use in literature.
