Adaptation of some sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) cultivars in Tokat province

This research was carried out on 5 wild oleaster varieties in the field of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Agricultural Application and Research Directorate in the field of wild oleaster in 2020-2021. In the study, some phenological, morhpological, pomological and phytochemical characteristics were determined. Variety bud burst date March 15 (Polmiks)–March 30 (Leikora), beginning of blooming April 8 (Habego)–April 19 (S. Pearl), full bloom date April 26 (Habego, Hergo, Leikora)–May 5 (S. Pearl), end of flowering date May 10 (Hergo, Polmiks)–May 15 (Habego), first harvest date June 24 (S. Pearl)–August 20 (Hergo), last harvest date July 24 (S. Pearl)–August 20 (Hergo) and defoliation date was determined between 20 November (Polmiks)–29 November (Leikora). According to the averages, the crown width of the varieties is 174.83 (S. Pearl)–266.67 (Polmiks) cm, crown height 178.92 (S. Pearl)– 290.50 (Habego) cm, number of bodies 1 (S. Pearl)–2 (Polmiks) pieces, body thickness 60.14 (Hergo)– 92.13 (Leikora) cm, number of shoots 437.08 (S. Pearl)–1020.50 (Habego) pieces, shoot diameter 3.67 (Hergo)–4.20 (Leikora) mm, shoot length 44.90 (Leikora)–66.22 (Habego) cm, sheet length 44.28 (Polmiks)–69.28 (S. Pearl) mm, leaf width 5.23 (Hergo)–6.36 (S. Pearl) mm and the barb length was determined between 26.47 (Hergo)–58.54 (Polmiks) mm values. According to the averages of a year, the fruit weight of the varieties is 0.51 (S. Pearl)–0.19 (Hergo) g, fruit width 5.72 (Hergo)–8.04 (S. Pearl) mm, fruit length 8.41 (Hergo)–12.01 (Habego) mm, shape index (height/width) 1.44 (S. Pearl)–1.76 (Habego) mm, L, a, b color values are respectively 49.29 (Hergo)–55.53 (Leikora) ; 16.51 (Hergo)–24.46 (S. Pearl) ; it was found in the range of 35.57 (Hergo)–48.16 (Leikora) values. Water soluble dry matter %8.50 (Leikora)-%9.50 (S. Pearl), pH value 2.77 (Habego)–2.86 (Hergo) and the titratable acid ratio was found to be between %2.48 (S. Pearl)-%4.33 (Habego). According to the results of the research, the 'Siberian Pearl' wild buckthorn cultivar came to the fore in terms of the characteristics examined.
