Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the professional self-esteem and organizational commitment of physical education and sports teachers. In addition, their professional respect and organizational commitment were also examined according to various variables (gender, age, marital status, educational status, average monthly income, professional experience, working time at the school, the status of the school, the quality of the school and the status of being an administrative task at the school). In line with the goal of our research, the universe of the study consists of physical education and sports teachers (n=300), 117 female and 183 male, working in public and private schools in the provinces of Bağcılar, Bakırköy and Bahçelievler in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sampling method to be used in this direction will be a simple random sampling method, where all the participants have an equal and random chance of entering the sample, and at the same time, the research results will be revealed quickly and easily. IBM SPSS 25.0 program was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistical methods (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) were used in the evaluation of the data. In comparisons, the data were determined by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, where the data did not show normal distribution, and the skewness- kurtosis values, and non-parametric tests were used. Therefore, the differences between the 2 groups were determined with the Mann Whitney U Test, and in the groups with more than 2, the Kruskal Wallis test. Tukey PostHoc test was used to determine which group the difference was in favor of Kruskal Wallis tests. The determination of the relationship between organizational stress and organizational commitment was also determined by Pearson Correlation. As a result of the study, it was seen that only being an administrative task was an effective factor on professional self-esteem. Gender, age, educational status, monthly income and professional experience are effective factors on the value of organizational commitment. A negative relationship was found between professional self-esteem and organizational commitment, and it was determined that as self-esteem increased, the level of organizational commitment decreased.
