Abstract (EN)
Language is a catalyst that has contributed to the evolutionary leap of the human species. With their ability to use language, humans have established communication that supports their collective movement; they have been able to convey their desires, intentions, emotional states, and narratives to others through speech. The increasing preference for writing as a means of communication has led to its standardization and created a field worthy of study. Within this field, studies on the systematics of languages have gained momentum, and a process has emerged in which writing and language are intertwined and constantly evolving. This process reached its peak in the 20th century, giving rise to the field of linguistics, which seeks to reveal the structure and dynamics of language, and ultimately to the field of text linguistics. Text linguistics is an objective field of study that seeks to identify all the parameters contained in a text, from its smallest formal units to its most difficult-to-understand background, through the structural system it has established. There are three components in the organizational structure of text linguistics. Of these components, the superstructure serves as the roof, while the small-scale structure and large-scale structure are two separate carriers. The small-scale structure system focuses on the grammatical structure that forms the surface of the text and reveals the relationships between words and word groups. The large-scale structure system identifies the underlying semantic network and examines its compatibility with the small-scale structure. The superstructure system determines the type of text and measures its consistency with the small- and large-scale structure systems. Linguistic, lexical, and semantic analyses of texts that are more difficult to understand within narrative genres facilitate the comprehension of these texts.Based on this, it can be said that this field of study, which focuses on the narrative of novels, one of the literary texts that has internalized the descriptive presentation style, is quite effective. The work in question is a novel written by Behçet Çelik. This work, which is 266 pages long and published by İletişim Publications in 2019, was first examined in terms of repetition, collocation, grammatical cohesion, reference, ellipsis, substitution, relational elements, similarity/parallelism, tense and appearance criteria in the small-scale structure system. In the second stage, the semantic relationship was revealed using the criteria of topic sequencing, function, title, subject, key words, schema, topical sentence, style, point of view, summary, conclusion sentence and motif/theme in the large-scale structure system. Finally, the type of text was determined using the superstructure system.
