Abstract (EN)
Alienation is one of the most profound and complex emotions of the human experience of living on earth. This phenomenon, which often manifests itself as the loss of interest in oneself, one's environment and even the world, becomes an inevitable part of life from time to time. Alienation, which sometimes takes its source from the inner world of the individual and sometimes from the rapidly changing dynamics of the external world, is one of the most current issues of our age. This can be justified by the fact that alienation is a problem in all social sciences whose material is human. It is possible to say that alienation, as an existential problem that carries human communication with oneself and society to the point of miscommunication, also finds a wide place in literary works that present a reflection of the period. Based on this, our research aims to determine the thematic reflections of the phenomenon of alienation shaped around Sartre's existentialist thought in Behçet Çelik's novels Dünyanın Uğultusu (The Hum of the World), Soluk Bir An (A Pale Moment) and Belleğin Girdapları (The Vortices of Memory), one of the important names of recent Turkish short story writing.
