Abstract (EN)
"Romanian Folk Dances", recorded by musicologist and composer Béla Bartók during her trips to Romanian Transylvania between 1909 and 1914, consists of six parts. The work was arranged for violin and piano by Zoltan Szekely. It is thought that examining Szekely's arrangement, "Romanian Folk Dances Sz.56", from a technical and musical perspective, will make a valuable contribution to music theory. Based on this idea, how is the technical and musical analysis of the violin and piano arrangement of Romanian Folk Dance numbered Sz.56 in this research? The answer to the question has been sought. As a result, stylistic, articulative, formal and thematic findings about the Romanian Folk Dances piece arranged for piano and violin have been revealed. As a result of the findings, it is thought that a new source has been gained about Bartók's composition techniques and musical language. It is also thought that the findings will provide a facilitating resource for music performers. According to our knowledge, no comprehensive research on Sz.56 has been found in the national literature. Therefore, it can be said that the review lays the groundwork for more comprehensive research in the future.
