Abstract (EN)

Master?s thesis on ?The Technical Analysis of Beledi Weavings and New Proposals? is expressed in accordance with the data obtained from field research. In this thesis, the historical development and technical features of Beledi weaving are discussed by benefiting from the explanation of the resource person from field research, Beledi weaving?s loom and existing Beledi weaving samples.This study aims to provide Beledi weaving with a place in literature by specifying design and technical features of existing Beledi weaving samples. It is focused on how the patterns are created by examining the Beledi loom which has survived as a cultural heritage.In the first part of the study, titled with ?The Technical Analysis of Beledi Weavings and New Proposals?, Tire town, Beledi weavings? historical development and its loom are reviewed. In the second part, information about technical features of its samples is provided and the reports of step on treadle in fabrics are created. In the third part, Seven designs, created according to the weaving draft, were weaved and their technical analysis and reports of step on treadle were documented in tables.While in the past, Palaces of the Ottoman Empire and Europe were furnished with fabrics weaved with its looms, today the fabrication of Beledi weaving is very little. As the Beledi weavings have double-layered fabric and there was no fabric weaved with this technique in the weavings of the Ottoman Empire, Beledi weaving has a special place in the history of weaving. ?ngilizce Anahtar Kelimeler:1-Double Layer Woven2-Fabric Analysis3-Weaving 4-Beledi5- ?zmir-Tire
