Abstract (EN)
This study is aimed to measure the characteristics and satisfaction levels of the individuals who buy breads sold by Metropolitan Municipality in Adana Province. Within this scope, a face-to-face survey was conducted with 384 individuals selected from 220 different sales points. 61.3% of the participating individuals were male, 39.7% were primary school graduates, 76.4% were married, the average age was 44.4 and the average family size was 4.93. In food intake, the mother's role was 51,7% while in the bread purchase was 39,7%. 78.7% of the individuals are buying bread daily, and 55.8% of them serves breads in large pieces, and the average amount of bread consumed is 6.32. Approximately 60% of the consumers stated that municipal sales points were adequate, 73% stated breads are clean and 72% stated tastes are good. However, 46% emphasized that breads are not big enough. Only 60% of the people find the municipal sales points are in sufficient number.The percentage of those who stated that no foreign matter came out from their breads is very high (%90). As the level of education decreases, the amount of bread consumed decreases; but with the expand in households, the amount increases.
