A study on determining the job satisfaction of employees in municipalities: The case of Diyarbakır

This research, which aims to investigate the determination of municipal officials' job satisfaction involves officials in Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, Kayapinar Municipality, Yenişehir Municipality and Sur Municipalities in Diyarbakir province. In this research,"Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale" and the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcherwas used. The sample is defined as the representative of the universe, formed by the selection of a certain number of units of a particular universe. The sample of the research was determined by simple random sampling technique. Data were collected between 01.02.2021- 15.06.2021.439 officials working in Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, Kayapinar Municipality, Yenişehir Municipality and Sur Municipalities in Diyarbakir province were evaluated. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the internal job satisfaction of male officials in Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and Yenişehir Municipality was higher than that of female officials. In addition, the external job satisfaction of male officials in Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and Yenişehir Municipality was found to be higher than that of female officials. The general job satisfaction levels of male officials in Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality are higher than those of female officials.It was also determined that as internal and external job satisfaction increased among officials in Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, Kayapinar Municipality, Yenişehir Municipality and Sur Municipality, general job satisfaction increasedas well.
