Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine whether self-control moderates the relationship between internet addiction, cyberbullying, and risky internet behaviors of individuals in emerging adulthood. The research group consists of 282 participants between the ages of 18-29. Data were collected using the Personal Information Form, The Revised Cyber Bullying Inventory (RCBI), the Young Internet Addiction Test Short Form (YİBT-SF), the Self- Control Scale, and the Risky Internet Behaviors Scale. Data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. Independent Sample t-test, Mann-Whitney U Test, One- Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Kruskal Wallis Test, Pearson Moment Multiplication Correlation technique, and Path Analysis technique were used in data analysis. According to the results of the analysis, there is no moderator role of self-control between internet addiction and risky internet behaviors; self-control has a moderating role in the relationship between internet addiction and cyberbullying. When low self-control is accompanied by high internet addiction, cyberbullying increases, and a significant relationship exists between them. On the other hand, it seems that the effect of internet addiction, where self-control is high, on cyberbullying is insignificant. Keywords: Internet addiction, cyberbullying, risky internet behaviors, self-control, emerging adulthood.
