Abstract (EN)
We are interested in the design of derivatives of armed aza crown ethers vith various lipophilic character, which are commonly used in liquid-liquid extraction of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals, as phase transfer catalysts and also have important uses as synthetic receptors in molecular recognition processes and, in some cases, their anion complexation properties are similar to those in certain biological systems. They show an enhanced complexing ability for ammonium salts and for transition metal ions over the all-oxygen crown compounds. For these reasons we have prepared a series of monobenzo diaza and dibenzo diaza crown ethers with various lipophilic charecter.
