Socia-economic features of population in city of bergama and its effects on education

Abstract (EN)

Since 1950 migration from rural to city has been increased in Turkey. Cities that populations have been grown up did not take the necessary measures. This position has attended problems such as wrong urbanization. In fact, in our country urbanization disputes with spatial, social and cultural problems due to process of squatter housing processes. These problems have negative and positive effects on new generation and this generation?s education. Aim of this study is, effects on education of changing social-cultural and economics parameters, and solutions to solve for these problems. For analyzing the population?s social-economics and educational effects, some of the demographical and migration data?s have been taken from İzmir Health Care Centers information cards data?s, education progress data?s have been taken from 6 primary school?s 8.class students and families public surveys (including 284 questions) and National Education Center?s data?s. These data?s penetrated to the maps, interrogated and crossed mapped with GIS. For definite the direction of the data?s significant level, brivate correlation method have been applied. After analyzing the data?s of the study, most of the immigrations have not reached life quality of better life, better education, health and traffic standards in Bergama. Some of the immigrations are thinking for turning back to the city they have been migrated. Most of the populations that have been married, there are connections between marriage age, selection of the mate, and proximity rate of the mate. A working women in the family has a positive effect on students educational success. Squatter housing processes and literate rate of the parents are other effects for student educational success. Room number of the house, place of the WC and kitchen, and electronic machines in the house has also effects on family?s life standards. Number of the rooms and students private room has important effect on the student?s success. Another factor acting the student?s success is, the student?s working due to help the family economy. After study of all these data?s; ? Increasing the family?s educations by the help of the Public Education Centers and National Education Centers reading and writing courses. ? A scholarship can be given to the student who comes to these research centers and whose economic strength isn?t enough. ? Preschool education must be compulsory, and high schools education must be increased to 4 years. ? Feeding of the students whose economic strength isn?t enough must get better with activities fort he physical development of the students. Will have positive effects for problems. As a result; family?s social, economics and cultural developments will have a good effect for the increase of the quality of the schools that are inside the society structure
