Abstract (EN)

Seismic isolation systems are significantly reduced the earthquake forces transmitted from the ground to the structure and thus isolate the structure against earthquake effects. These systems use is increasing in our country and in the world with time. Studies on this subject have been generally on the numerical analysis of seismic isolated reinforced concrete buildings. However, the verification of numerical analyzes with experimental results and studies on the cost of seismically isolated buildings are very limited. In this thesis, firstly, verification of the numerical model was obtained that the numerical analysis compared with the shaking table test results of a reinforced concrete building with and without seismic isolation. Additionally, time history solutions of a reinforced concrete duplex building designed with and without seismic isolation are obtained. In the solutions, 11 artificial earthquakes that are compatible with the spectrum curves belong the DD1 and DD2 levels specified in the Turkish Building Earthquake Code 2018 were produced. The earthquake responses of both structures were investigated in terms of displacement and floor shear forces. Furthermore, the cost of the buildings with and without isolation are compared with each other.
