Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to understand the correlation between the employee's ego states and their supervisor's and whether there is a link between ego states and work satisfaction. In this research, relational screening model is used. 298 white collar employees, who are based in Istanbul and have been working in the production sector, have been surveyed. The research uses a number of transactional analysis methods including ego states scale, Minnesota satisfaction questionnaire and a personal information questionnaire designed by the lead researcher. Survey results has been coded using SPSS and Excel programs. Fisher's exact chi-sqare test and independent samples t-test techniques have also been used in the analysis. This research indicated that there is a difference between the ego states of employees' and their perceived ego states of their supervisors. While this difference had no effect on the employees' work-satisfaction, we have found that if the ego states of employees and their expectation of their supervisors' ego states are similar, employees tend to have more work satisfaction. Similarly, if the perceived ego stated of the supervisor matches the ego state of the supervisor, work satisfaction tends to rise, compared with those who have a different ego state. Keywords: Transactional Analysis, Ego States, Work-Satisfaction.
