Abstract (EN)
In this study, mineralogical, petrographical and geochemical properties of chromite deposits in Beypınarı-Zara Region (Sivas) has been investigated.Ophiolite in the study area consists of serpentinized dunite, serpentinized harzburgite, rodengite dikes and brecciated serpentinites. Chromite pods in the serpentinezed dunites are usually in massive form. Based on chemical analysis, the Cr2O3 contents range from 33.94 to 51.71 %. The Cr2O3 content of chromites show negatively correlated with some major elements such as Al2O3 and MgO, whereas Fe2O3 is possitively corelated. The Cr2O3 content of chromites show V and Co is possitively corelated although negatively correlated with Ni.
