The purpose of this project is to find out the perspectives of library directors about the effects of information technology on the management functions such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling as well as whether those effects have meaningful differences due to the personal and organizational variables. Based on the purposes mentioned above, this study consists of three chapters: The first chapter includes concepts of information technology and university libraries and the use of information technology in university libraries. In the second chapter, the effects of information technology on management functions in university libraries are examined. The third chapter includes the analysis of the survey responses. First, Descriptive Analysis is used to learn about the characteristics of university libraries and directors, to learn the contributions of information technology to the administration activities, and to learn about the effects of information technology on the administration functions. Then, One-Way ANOVA for Repeated Measures and Independent Samples T-Test was run to find out what relationships exist between the effects of information technology on the administration functions and personal characteristics of the directors as well as organizational qualities.
