The hard problem of consciousness: Classical approaches and Dennett's critique

This paper critically analyses the complex nature of approaches to consciousness and explains their strengths and limitations. The main focus of this study is Daniel Dennett's approach to consciousness, which is one of the main solution proposals for the problem of consciousness. In addition, it is aimed to establish a relationship between classical approaches to consciousness and Dennett's solution proposals for the problem of consciousness. What is meant by the problem of consciousness is the problem of subjective experience, which is called the difficult problem of consciousness. Dennett's approach aims to explain this difficult problem. This study critically examines whether Dennett is able to develop a perspective different from the classical approaches to the difficult problem.
