Abstract (EN)

To determine the most dominant aphid parasitic wasp species in citrus orchards on citrus trees and weeds showed us that Binodoxys angelicae (Haliday) (Hym.: Braconidae) is the most encountered aphid parasitoid in citrus orchards of East Mediterranean region of Turkey. Therefore, the biology of B. angelicae was studied on one of the important aphid pest Aphis gossypii Glover (Hem. Aphdidae). Before set up the experiment 80± 10 A. gossypii nymphs were transferred gently to the cotton plants by camel-hair brush. New emergence a couple B. angelicae adults were released on this cotton plant for 24 hours at the end of the time the parasitoids were taken out. The cotton plant were kept in the chamber and checked daily till end of the experiment. Development time, parasitation rate, death ratio were determined by using daily observation during the experiment. The study were conducted at five constant temperatures (12, 17, 22, 27 and 32 ± 1 °C), 65 ± 10% relative humidity 16 h (8-10k lux) daily illumination in temperature cabinets with 10 replication.Although the mummies have been observed on 12 ? C, no adult was obtained while no development of mummy was observed on 32 ? C. Development time of female individual from egg to adult takes 34.7, 12.8 and 6.0 days at 17, 22 °C and 27 °C, respectively. The mean longevity of female adult is determined 6.4, 5.4 and 4.9 days at 17, 22°C and 27°C, while 4.6, 4.9 and 4.4 days at 17, 22, and 27 °C for male, correspondingly. The parasitation rates of B. angelicae on Aphis gossypii were assed as 5.6 % at 27?C, 44.1% at 22?C and 26.7% at 17?C.
