Abstract (EN)

Systems engineering is implemented as an engineering discipline in respect to the production and design of complex systems. Systems engineering operations, which adapted a document-based approach in the past can be insufficient when dealing with modern complex systems that developed harmonically with technological advances. As a solution, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applies models to systems engineering operations by detecting deficiencies and errors in an early phase and eventually averts complications. This thesis adopts a methodology by using MBSE to produce quality products that are projected to satisfy the needs of users/customers. Therefore, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System (UAV) and it's reconnaissance and surveillance mission are modeled. With the develeloped models, operational requirements were defined and transformed to requirements, therefore, reflected on the system design. As a result, data from the gap analysis showed that MBSE approach is more successful compared to the Document Based Systems Engineering (DBSE) in terms of the requirement analysis process and defining, satisfying user/customer needs.
