Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the vocational group guidance study on the future expectations of immigrant students and career decision making processes. Experimental pretest-posttest comparative model was used in the research. While the study group consists of 46 students studying at Isparta Merkez İmam Hatip High School in the 2019-2020 academic year; The data of 119 students were used for the validity and reliability analysis of the scales before the research. The data of the research were collected with the "Mesleki Karar Envanteri" developed by Çakır (2003) and the "Gelecek Beklentisi Ölçeği" developed by Şimşek (2012). Vocational group guidance sessions were planned using the activities of Korkut Owen (2010) "Career Scope" application book. One month after the group sessions, Stability tests were applied to the experimental groups. While the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the Mesleki Karar Verme Inventory is calculated as ,94; Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the Gelecek Beklentisi Ölçeği was calculated as ,93. Analysis of the data was obtained using the SPSS 22.0 program version. In the analysis of the data; frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, independent and dependent variables t tests, Mann Whitney U test, Wilcoxon test and Shapiro Wilk test were used. According to the obtained results, a positive difference was found between the pre-test and post-test averages in both scales. Accordingly, it can be said that the applied vocational group guidance study increases the future expectations and professional decision making levels of immigrant high school students. In addition, no statistically significant difference is found between the stability tests applied to the experimental groups and the posttest scores. This shows that the group guidance study has a lasting effect.
