Assembly line improvement studies of an automotive firm using lean manufacturing

Lean production is the process of eliminating all activities in production that cause waste, and increasing the activities that create added value. Lean manufacturing is a process of work, it takes a long time and requires constant effort. However, thanks to lean manufacturing, optimum outputs are obtained with limited resources. For this reason, lean production system and WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodology which is one of lean manufacturing system has been preferred in this study. Companies have to be able to survive, have to be able to struggle with their competitors in the market and have to use their resources in an optimum way. For this reason, in this thesis, assembly line improvement works are included in an automotive company by eliminating waste from production. In addition, in this study, a different point of view has been created for the assembly line improvement problem by trying to eliminate the work steps that do not create added value with World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Workplace Organization (WO) activities.
