Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, wars, epidemics, natural disasters and all events that caused the massacre have increased the number of interdisciplinary studies, and the researches have strengthened interdisciplinary cooperation. The Second World War, which took place between 1939 and 1945 and resulted in the murder of millions of Jews, is an event that has been handled historically, sociologically, psychologically and literally, and requires an interdisciplinary study of the impact of war on individuals and society. The Holocaust had a long-lasting traumatic impact on many people who survived the Second World War. Especially the writers who were kept as prisoners in concentration camps during the war were the most important witnesses of the war. The authors, who convey their experiences to their works in order to be the voice of the Jews who were tortured and killed, attempted to express the horror of the Holocaust with all their sincerity. One of the most important witnesses of the 20th century, Spanish screenwriter, politician and writer Jorge Semprun introduced his experience in concentration camps to readers through the novels he wrote, and described writing as a shelter to escape from the trauma of war. Although Semprun largely supported the autobiography theory theorized by Philippe Lejeune and requiring a strict adherence to reality, the author preferred to use a style of expression that blends fiction and reality. Using fiction skillfully to shape reality, Semprun feels closer to autofiction theorized by Serge Doubrovsky. Because autofiction opens, up a space for the writer to create reality through fiction and offers the writer / narrator the opportunity to externalize his inner sensations. The novel analysis to be made within the framework of this study will be carried out by using the autofiction method. In the study, the formation and development processes of autobiography, Serge Doubrovsky's theory of autofiction, and the stages of the articulation of autofiction to autobiography will be discussed. In the following chapters, Jorge Semprun's relationship with literature will be examined and the author's novel The Long Voyage, published in 1963.
