Abstract (EN)
This thesis ``A Sociological Study over Theft as a Deviance and a Type of Crime: Elazıg Trial?? is a field study.The theft as a deviance and a type of crime which is one of the major social problems is investigated in this thesis; Individuals committing the theft crime and their social-cultural and economical factors that leaded to this type of crime from the sociological aspect has been studied.From the study it is concluded that: People committing the thief crime are either adolescence or middle age. Their education and economic income levels are low. Majority of them has been captured and arrested before and kept in jail related to crime.It was very common on those individuals that they had behavioral disorders and under physiological therapy related to their disorder. Smoking and drinking was also very common behaviors observed.When thief suspect families and relatives are investigated; similar adverse social behaviors were seen. They had also higher crime rate among their friends.Keywords: Crime, crime sociology, social deviance behaviors, theft, sociological crime theory.
