Ideological journey of a Turkish intellectual:The case of Doğu Perinçek

Doğu Perinçek has started his political life inside youth movements at the late 60's when the socialist movement had been raised in Turkey and he had become one of the most important leaders of "National Democratic Revolution Movement". Since the beginning, Perinçek has been located his political position focused on anti-imperialism.Related the unstable conjuncture, In spite of the fact that he has showed some differencesto define the imperialist actor, he never changed his political policy against anti-imperialism. As a Turkish intellectual Doğu Perinçek, have founded his ideological structure upon being scientific. Thus he defined his political identity as socialist, Kemalist or both as the time changes. Despite the never-changing topics like the goal of National Democratic Revolution and anti-imperialist attitude, the conjuncture effect has createdswitches atPerinçek on the topics like Kurdish Affair, The Army, Nationalism and Armenian Affair. In the scope of his approach towards international policies, that effect has been caused transformation of Perinçek on the topics like USA, Russia, China and Cyprus.Outside the exceptions, Perinçek had never been in good relations with socialist or Kemalist political parties or organizations throughout his political struggle. On the contrary, he had been at generally opposite and contrarian positions. Perinçek, as a person who founded his ideology based on the ideologies of modern era like socialism and Kemalism, it is seemed that he is not open up to movements like environmentalism, anarchism, LGBTI and feminism which have started to rise at post-modern era.It is seemed that anti-imperialism forms the mother lode on Perinçek's political idea. Besides it is seemed that socialism and Kemalism generates the base of his ideology.
