IMPORTANCE OF PATIENT SATISFACTION ON HEALTH CARE ECONOMY INPRIMARY HEALTH CARE INSTITUTIONS : AN APPLICATIONSUMMARYOne of the most important things for people to live in social and economical prosperity andreach high level health is ?Basic Health Care?. Referring patient and examining results have to beconsidered in scope of Basic Health Care Concept. Lately, like every other sector, health care isin changing. This change makes not only the technology important but also providing service inthe health care institutions because although there are restrictions, patients can choose the healthcare institution they want to get service. And there are a lot of factors that could affect patients?choice.First chapter of this research mainly about the health concept, definition and objective ofhealth care, features of health care and health care in the economical point of view.In the second chapter; development of health care service in Turkey is evaluated and currentsituation presented.In the third chapter; objective is to determine the factors affecting patient satisfaction such asentry primary health care institutions not being used effectively, patients applying secondaryhealth care institutions instead of primary health care and negative effects of this situation on theeconomy.In the fourth chapter; related implementation takes place. Cronbach?s reliability test, t test andone way variance method are used to analyze the data collected by face to face surveys inPamukova Sağlık Ocağı which is a primary health care institution, and a secondary health careinstitution; Pamukova Devlet Hastanesi, both located in Pamukova, Adapazarı.According to the research; the most important factor for the patients to apply secondaryhealth care institutions is determined as patient?s satisfaction. Improvement of laboratory servicesand employment of specialist doctors have positive effects on patient?s satisfaction in primaryhealth care institutions. Furthermore if primary health care institutions were used effectively,most of the patient needs could be met, thus the amount of the workload would decrease,unnecessary use of technology and increasing cost of health Care services would be prevented insecondary health Care institutions.
