While he was working on the modernization and restructuring of the Ottoman army as the head of the German Military Mission for five years, with the onset of the First World War, he also took part in the front by performing duties such as the 5th Army Command and the Yıldırım Armies Group Command. Sanders, upon the signing of the Armistice of Mudros on 30 October 1918 by the Ottoman Empire, transferred her duty to Mustafa Kemal Pasha and set out to return to her country in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire. There are images in almost all written literary products, from novels to poems, from theater texts to memoirs. The fact that the formation of this image contains a subjectivity rather than objectivity constitutes one of the most important reasons for conducting research. In this study, the approaches of two German commanders, Colmar Freiherr von der Goltz and Liman von Sanders, who served in the Ottoman army and rose to the rank of marshal, to the Turkish image in the written texts and memoirs they left behind, and their approaches to the concept of Turkish, were examined within the framework of imagology. Sanders wrote his memoirs here. Imagology and Imagology, which are among the most important titles of comparative literature, are formed from the combination of the Latin words 'imago' meaning image and 'logos' meaning science.
