Distribution and taxonomy of the genus Blanus (Reptilia:Amphisbaenia) in Diyarbakir province

Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is purposed to investigate the distribution and taxonomic status of the genus Blanus was investigated which reported that distributed in Southeastern Anatolian Region but only has a single report from Çermik in Diyarbakir, and reveal the similarities and the differences of the species or subspecies of the collected samples. It was tried to determine some biological and ecological characters of these samples were observed in field and laboratory studies.As a result of the research, it was brought out that there have been five new lokalites (Silvan, Dicle, Hani, Çınar and Eğil) having 16 samples of the genus Blanus. In this way, the distribution of this genus has enlarged slightly northeast ofdistribution area. Also, many observations about the biology of this species has been presented in this study for the first time.
