Abstract (EN)

This study was planned to determine the effect of long-term storage and high hatching temperature applications of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) hatching eggs on chick quality using the Tona scoring method. The data obtained in the study were analyzed by applying a factorial experiment plan in random blocks and Dunnet test was used to compare multiple means. Experimental groups are group A exposed to high temperature (38.6°C) for the first week, group B exposed to storage (14 days) and 37.6°C temperature, group C applied to storage (14 days) and to high temperature (38.6°C) for the first 7 days, and K group applied to temperature (37.6 °C) without storage. The rate of transfer weight loss (%) differed significantly according to the groups (P<0.01). Transfer weight loss in group B exposed to high incubation temperature during the first 7 days of the development period after storage (14 days) was 12.04% higher than that of group K (10.80%). The effect of treatment groups on chick hatching intervals was not significant between hours of 392-400 ve 424-432 but it was significant hours of 376-384 (P<0.05), 384-392 (P< 0.01), 400-408 (P< 0.01), 408-416 (P<0.05) ve 416-424 (P< 0.05) statistically. The busiest chick hatches are 376-384. Between the hours of 384-392 in group A. in the K group between hours, 400-408. Between the hours of 408-416 and 416-424 in group B. was in group C between hours. Group effect, block effect and group*block interaction (interaction) were found to be significant on sellable chick hatching weight (P<0.01). Group (P<0.01), block (P<0.01) and group*block interaction (P<0.012) were found to be significant in terms of chick size. The effect of the applications on the Tona score was significant (P<0.001). The average Tona score was determined with the highest value of 98.10 in the K group, followed by the B, A and C groups, respectively. The effect of application X block interaction and application group effect on body weight without yolk were found to be insignificant. The effect of applications on output power is significant (P<0.001). Treatments were effective on first and second embryo death (P<0.001; P<0.05), but were ineffective on third term embryo death.
