The role of the financial sector on regional development: Siirt example

Regional development is recognized as a dimension of the concept of development. For this reason, regional development has been identified as a topic today. Countries that have entered the process of economic development with the industrialization process generally experience regional imbalances in socioeconomic terms today, due to the distribution of production capacity between regions, in other words, leaving it to market forces to decide which sector and which areas to invest in. Throughout this study, the role of the finance sector in Siirt in regional development has been tried to be determined. For this purpose, Siirt's financial data and regional development parameters were determined and compared. When the data on Siirt's regional development parameters are analyzed, it is revealed that the financial sector plays a positive role in regional development. This conclusion is also reached when the regional development parameter data and the size of deposits, loans grants of banks are compared.
