Abstract (EN)
Boron is a material of high importance for Turkey. Boron is consideredto be the material of future and the world?s largest mineral reserveswhich are used as raw material for boron production, occur in ourcountry. Development, Production and Marketing of this strategicmaterial not only as raw material but also as value added mid- and end-products will provide outstanding economical value for Turkey. In thisstudy, following the brief description of boron and its compounds,armor and adhesive wear applications of boron carbide is elaborated.Key Words : Boron, Boron Carbide, Armor, Wear
