Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to study the effect of soil and foliar application of boron (B) on the yield and quality traits of maize in 2019 at Hatay (East Mediterranean region), Turkey. The experiment was carried out in a split plot design with three replications. The experiment was consisted five levels of soil-applied boron (0, 300, 600, 900, 1200 g da-1) which was subjected in the main plots, and three levels of foliar applied boron (0, 300, 600 g da-1) which was assigned in the sub-plots. Performance maize genotypes were used. Ears were harvested and selected randomly for analysis of grain quality. Soil and foliar application of B was improved the grain yield, yield components. The highest grain yield was achieved by 1200 g da-1 of soil applied B and 600 g da-1 of foliar applied boron. Consequently, Boron fertilizer should be applied in soil as basal dose as well as foliage to achieve the maximum grain yield and quality properties of maize under investigation conditions.
