Abstract (EN)
In this doctoral dissertation, heat and mass transfer of falling film liquid outside the tubes which are different-geometrical shaped tubes has been examined experimentally and numerically. In the first section of this thesis study consisting of eight main sections, applicability of main idea, purpose and hypothesis presented with this doctoral dissertation has been expressed. Beside, studies which have been carried out until now was examined and results of researches were included in literature. In the second section, some basic concepts will be used in the system design and mathematical model have been mentioned. In the third section, model for simultaneous heat and mass transfer has been formed in the designed test cell. Calculation method will be used in the mathematical model have been mentioned. In the fourth section, as experimental part, classification of made experiments on experiment mechanism has been mentioned and experimental studies have been explained. Grooved tube tests have been performed in the forced convection conditions at different air speeds, feeding water temperatures and flow rate. At the same way, reference smooth tube tests performed at different air speeds, feeding water temperatures and flow rates. Numerical image processing methods has been searched and to be applied on these methods displays made on experiment mechanism finally wet surface area percentage has been determined. Image analyses for different geometrical grooved tubes are done as using MATLAB program image processing toolbar and their results has been presented. After heat and mass transfer analysis of both of them, Nu_g=a (Pr)^(1/3) (Re_a )^b (Re_s )^c correlation for Nu number in liquid-gas surface at grooved tube have been suggested at forced convection conditions. At sixth section, numerical analysis with ANSYS Fluent CFD software into helically trapezoid grooved and smooth reference tube in the test cell has been carried out. Meshing of tubes formed their three dimensional model has been performed through ICEM CFD. Temperature distribution on grooves and tube surfaces have been determined for forced convection conditions. Surface heat transfer coefficient, Nu values and surface temperatures with their numerical analysis results have been compared with experimental results. At seventh section, as carrying out uncertainty analysis of experiments aimed at determining simultaneous heat and mass transfer, error results of systems have been given. At eighth section, results of doctoral dissertation and suggestions have been determined.
