Abstract (EN)

It was aimed to randomly divide a study group of 45 individuals, aged 18-65 years, who have non-specific neck pain and who have no contraindications to chiropractic treatments, and to compare the effects of two different chiropractic techniques on neck muscle strength, pain, and neck joint range of motion. This study was conducted at the Kayro-Fit Physiotherapy and Counseling Center with a total of 45 people, 15 participants in each group. Age, height, weight of the participants will be measured and randomly divided into 3 groups. The groups are; Control Group (n=15), Drop Table Technique application group (n=15), Diversified Technique Application group (n=15). After the 4-week treatment period, the evaluations made before the application were repeated in the control group. Evaluation times; T0 (before the spinal manipulation treatment program) was formed as T1 (after the spinal manipulation treatment program). Parameters to be measured in the study; McGill – Melzack Pain Questionnaire, Cervical Joint Range of Motion was set as muscle strength measurement with MicroFet 2 Manual Muscle Tester. In both of the chiropractic practice groups (diversified group and drop table group), it was concluded that the joint range of motion increased compared to the control group, and there was a decrease in pain according to the Mcgill pain questionnaire. In the neck isometric muscle strength measurements, the increase in the diversified group was significant (p<0.05). In the drop table group, only the increase in the right lateral flexion isometric measurement of the neck was significant, and no significant result was achieved in other isometric muscle strengths (p>0.05). In the control group, only the decrease in neck flexor muscle strength was significant, but no significant result was obtained in other neck muscle isometric contraction strengths. We believe that individuals with non-specific neck pain can benefit from chiropractic practices in order to reduce their pain and perform neck movements more easily.
