Abstract (EN)

Single phase induction motors, which have various usage areas, are preferred due to their robust structure, easy maintenance and ability to operate in different ambient conditions. Since speed control is not easy due to its nonlinear structure, its usage and development has been limited. in this study, hysteresis band PWM and fuzzy logic techniques are used for speed control of single phase induction motor. Unlike traditional methods that require expensive equipment, PWM controlled AC chopper, using power electronic elements is used to control the speed of single phase induction motor and at the same time high power factor and harmonic distortion in the motor current are avoided. The PWM controlled AC chopper provided speed control but could not prevent the speed drop under load. With the fuzzy logic system in which the closed loop is created, the decrease in speed after loading is prevented. The study was modelled with MATLAB/Simulink and successful result were obtained for different reference speeds. Keywords: Single Phase Induction Motor, Hysteresis Band PWM, Fuzzy Logic
