Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out in order to investigate the determination of forage yield, quality and silage characters of some silage maize varieties sown as second crops in Bursa ecological conditions at the Agricultural Application and Research Center of Agriculture Faculty, Bursa Uludag University in 2017. In this research, Colonia, AS 160 Silaz, P 3394, Hacıbey, 94MAY66, Macha, Sy Jullen, Sy Atomic and Temuco were used as a plant material. The experiment was established using a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. In the research, plant height, first ear height, stem diameter, leaf ratio, stem ratio, cob ratio, forage yield, dry matter yield, crude protein content and yield, ADF and NDF, silage dry matter content, silage pH, silage crude protein content, silage ADF and NDF characteristics were investigated. According to the results; the highest plant height (340,97 cm) was obtained from As 160 Silaz , the highest first ear height (153,00 cm) was obtained from Macha , the lowest stem diameter (21,95 mm) was obtained from P 3394, the higest leaf ratios (21,94 %, 21,64 %, 21,54 %, 21,50 %, 21,50 %) were obtained from Macha, Temuco, AS160 Silage, P 3394 and Hacıbey, respectively, the lowest stem ratios (26,54 %, 26,67 %, 26,81 % and 26,94 %) were obtained from Sy Jullen, Sy Atomic, P 3394 and 94MAY66, respectively, the heighest ear ratios (53,08 %, 53,01 %, 51,88 %, 51,69 %) were obtained from Sy Atomic, Sy Jullen, 94MAY66 and P 3394, respectively, the highest green forage yields (8513,75 kg and 8501,31 kg/da) were obtained from As 160 Silage and Sy Jullen, respectively, the highest dry mater yield (2443,05 kg/da) was obtained from Sy Jullen, the highest crude protein content yields (165,81 kg/da and 164,95 kg/da) were obtained from Sy Jullen and Macha, respectively, the lowest ADF content (23,89 %) was obtained from 94MAY66, the highest silage dry matter content (31,46 %) was obtained from Temuco, the lowest silage ADF content (20,48 %) was obtained from 94MAY66, the lowest silage NDF content (42,72 %) was obtained from P 3394 variety. As a result, 94MAY66 variety is suggested for the highest green forage yield and quality criteria under ecological conditions in Bursa.
